I remember her saying &quot;I laid down 20 quarts of applesauce this year&quot; but my sister remembers her saying &quot;laid UP&quot;.  Did your grandma have a phrase for preserving the harvest, and was it laid up or laid down?  (Or did she have a different phrase!)
